Marko Feingold, born in 1913, is Austria's oldest Jew. In 1938, he was arrested by the Nazis on the occasion of a stay in Vienna shortly after the annexation of Austria. He survived Auschwitz, Neuengamme, Dachau and Buchenwald, where he was interned until the liberation in 1945.
After the war he became an escape helper for thousands of former concentration camp prisoners, whom he transported across the Alps to Italy and on to Palestine.
A Jewish Life portrays one of the last witnesses of the Holocaust. This film is intended to preserve Marko Feingold's story as an everlasting document. At the same time, current developments are also illuminated and timeless questions raised: questions on human nature - morality, responsibility, human dignity - and their limits. Marko Feingold's experiences in the Nazi dictatorship determined his entire life.
